At least 50 joggers fined in Klang for SOP violations

KLANG: More than 50 joggers were issued compounds for standard operating procedure violations near Jambatan Muda Nala.

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Shamsul Amar Ramli said the incident occurred here at about 6pm on Sunday.

“Our enforcement team went to the area after receiving a tip-off on mass activities and jogging there.

“When the team reached the location, they found that a number of people had parked their cars near the barriers and were jogging and loitering on the bridge, which has been closed since the movement control order started,” he said in a statement.

He said the officer at the scene contacted an officer from the Selangor police headquarters Covid-19 control centre for further instructions.

“The officer was then ordered to issue compounds to everyone at the location.

“The Selangor police headquarters also sent their own enforcement team to back us up.

“We issued 54 compounds of RM2,000 to everyone there,” he said.
