KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government has released updated standard operating procedures (SOP) for mosques and surau, places of worship as well as childcare centres, which will come into effect on Tuesday (June 15).
For mosques and surau, only 12 committee members are allowed for the five daily prayers, as well as Friday prayers.
"Activities in mosques and surau such as religious classes, nikah ceremonies or wedding receptions are not allowed during the movement control order period," said state Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun in a statement on Sunday (June 13).
For non-Muslim religious houses, the SOP also limited it to 12 management committee members to be present.
Meanwhile, the daycare centres are only allowed to operate at 50% capacity from 6am to 6pm, with one metre physical distancing practised at all times.
"On top of sanitising rooms or spaces, both carers and children must wear face masks for all activities, and doors and windows kept opened to allow the flow of air.
"The children should be allowed to sleep separately, and while they do not need to wear masks when sleeping, carers must always wearing masks," Masidi added.
Those handling babies must wear personal protective equipment at all times, he added.
