PUTRAJAYA: There will be more checks at malls and other public places by standard operating procedure (SOP) compliance teams over the upcoming long weekend to ensure that people only go out to get essentials, says Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin(pic).
"I hope to see high compliance among the public as it is important that all of us play a part to flatten the Covid-19 curve," said the Home Minister after inspecting a shopping mall here on Friday (June 4).
The public will have a long weekend as next Monday (June 7) is a public holiday in commemoration of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's birthday.
Hamzah also said more roadblocks will be set up around Selangor and Kuala Lumpur to check the movement of people.
As of Thursday (June 3), 930 road blocks were active nationwide.
"The police have reported that there is still high traffic. We want to ensure that those who leave their homes are out only for important matters," he said.
