Ampang cops detain couple for allegedly abusing four-year-old girl

AMPANG: A woman and her boyfriend have been detained for allegedly abusing her four-year-old daughter at a condominium unit in Hulu Klang

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said they were detained on Tuesday (March 25).

"The abuse was noticed by a relative in March.

"The relative claimed that the girl had been abused since March but there were no visible signs of injury.

"However, she noticed bruises on the girl's face during subsequent visits," he said on Saturday (May 29).

ACP Mohamad Farouk said a team from the Hulu Klang police station detained the suspects, aged 27 and 39 respectively.

"We found the girl at the same condominium unit.

"We believe the abuse started as the girl was hyperactive and had defecated all over the home," he added.

ACP Mohamad Farouk said both suspects had criminal records.

"They have been remanded until May 31.We will refer the investigation paper to the Deputy Public Prosecutor once the investigation is completed," he added.
