KUANTAN: Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail is appealing to the people of Pahang to register for Covid-19 vaccination, with the state's sign-up rate still low.

He revealed that the percentage of Pahang folk who have registered was 34.6% or about 415,000people out of the targeted 1.2 million.

"This is not a proud achievement. The state government truly wants the target to be achieved in order to preserve the health of the people of Pahang as a whole," Wan Rosdy said in a statement on Friday (May 28).

He called on people throughout all the districts in the state to immediately register for vaccination through the MySejahtera application.

"This is important for creating herd immunity among the people, which will also help break the chain of Covid-19 transmission in the state," he said.

Earlier on Friday, state secretary Datuk Seri Dr Sallehuddin Ishak said the registration rate in Pahang was worrying and this could mean the state would not receive enough vaccine doses.
