MCO 3.0: RM7.8mil worth of targeted aid for Pahang folk, says MB

KUANTAN: Up to RM7.8mil worth of targeted aid will be handed out to the people of Pahang affected by the movement control order (MCO).

In making the announcement, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the Bantuan Prihatin Pahang Covid-19 would benefit those especially affected by MCO 3.0 and the enhanced MCO.

"This large allocation is provided as a sign of the state government's concern for the welfare of the people in the face of difficult times now.

"It is also provided according to the financial capability of the state government at this time," he said on Monday (May 24).

As with the assistance initiatives provided by the state government previously, Wan Rosdy said the aid would still be in the form of cash and essential items.

Among the groups that would benefit from this were frontliners, hawkers, taxi drivers, active Covid-19 cases including victims undergoing quarantine at home, the homeless, hardcore poor, people with disabilities and the elderly aged 80 and above who were receiving assistance from the Social Welfare Department.

Wan Rosdy said all preparations were being made and he hoped that the distribution of the aid in a targeted manner could be implemented as soon as possible so that recipients could benefit from it immediately.
