Duo detained at Bayan Lepas mall, fined for inter-district travel


BALIK PULAU: Two men aged 26 and 33 were slapped with compounds for inter-district travel to do shopping.

Balik Pulau OCPD Supt A. Anbalagan said the two men were detained at a mall in Bayan Lepas at around 3.30pm on Friday (May 14).

“The police found that both of them are from George Town, which is in the northeast district.

“When we ask them for authorisation documents to cross-district, they fail to provide us the letters or documents, ” he said.

One of the men was issued a RM5,000 compound.

The mall is in Bayan Lepas which falls under the southwest district.
