Woman lodges report on intimidation after accusing Hilman Idham's associates of rape

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have recorded the statement from a woman who claimed that she was intimidated to withdraw her earlier report accusing two associates of Gombak Setia assemblyman Hilman Idham of rape.

When contacted, lawyer Asheeq Ali said his client was called to the Brickfields police headquarters on Tuesday (May 11) morning to have her statement recorded.

"We have given the police all the evidence on the people who met her, called her and texted her with threats.

"She is worried for her family's safety, as well as her own now," he said.

The woman had first lodged a report last December, claiming she had been raped by two of Hilman's associates.

She then lodged a second report on Saturday (May 8), alleging she had been intimidated to withdraw her report.

Asheeq said his client spent about 90 mins giving her statement to investigators.

When contacted for a follow up on the case, City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Saiful Annuar Yusoff responded,"wait until further notice".
