PJ police: Six roadblocks set up to enforce MCO

PETALING JAYA: Six roadblocks have been set up to enforce the movement control order (MCO) in the city, police said.

These include roadblocks along the Federal Highway and near Taman Kannagapuram (under the New Pantai Expressway), along Old Klang Road.

The roadblock along the Federal Highway was set up at 4pm on May 8, while the one along Old Klang Road was set up at midnight on May 9.

Other roadblocks manned by the Petaling Jaya police include those at the Sungai Buloh, Kota Damansara, Damansara and Subang toll plazas.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said in a statement on Monday (May 10) the roadblocks are in line with the National Security Council's directive which prohibits inter-district travel.

"The public is urged to continue to stay at home to break the chain of infection.

"We hope that the public will cooperate and follow standard operating procedures," he said.
