PETALING JAYA: Celebrity chef Datuk Wan Redzuawan Ismail has pleaded to the public to stay at home to break the chain of infection.

Wan Redzuawan, better known as “Chef Wan”, posted a four-minute video on Instagram yesterday, which showed Covid-19 patients resting in a ward filled with bunkbeds, along with long lines of patients queuing up to be attended by doctors.

“Omg, I cannot imagine how awful and exhausted our frontliners feel in caring for those who are Covid-19 positive.”

Citing a video he saw on social media, Chef Wan claimed that there was a video of a Ramadan bazaar in Wangsa Maju, which was filled with people shopping despite a spike in Covid-19 cases.

“Why are they so stubborn? They could endanger their families, neighbours and other people if they turned out to be super-spreaders next. I simply cannot digest where they put their brains.

“Didn’t they see the videos too? Or am I watching them alone and feeling worried and scared?”
