Cop found hanged at home in Sandakan

KOTA KINABALU: A policeman joined his family for sahur prayers before he was found hanged at his house in Sandakan on Friday (May 7).

Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hazani Ghazali said the 28-year-old lance corporal with the marine police was found by his wife in the living room at their Taman Pertama house at about 7.30am.

He said initial investigations showed that the policemen had a good work record and had no issues with his colleagues and senior officers.

He said the policeman had celebrated his child's third birthday on Thursday (May 6).

Hazani said the case has been classified as sudden death and the victim's body had been sent to Duchess of Kent Hospital for a post-mortem.
