Rela member claims man tried to run him over with car, police investigating

SHAH ALAM: Police are investigating an incident where someone allegedly tried to run over a Rela member with a car in front of a school in Kota Kemuning.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Baharudin Mat Taib said police received a report from the Rela member over the incident along Jalan Doritis 31/143 near SMK Kota Kemuning around 5.30pm on Wednesday.

"The Rela member claimed he was monitoring traffic as the road had been turned into a one-way route during peak hours for the safety of students.

"A BMW car suddenly entered the lane from the opposite side and the complainant attempted to stop the vehicle.

"He claimed that the driver refused to turn around when asked, and even attempted to run him over," he said, adding that police will call both parties to the Shah Alam police headquarters to have their statements recorded.
