Four suspects, including a policeman, nabbed for alleged robbery in JB

JOHOR BARU: Four men, including a 23-year-old policeman, were arrested for allegedly robbing a Nepali man here.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the suspects, aged 20 to 35, were arrested in the Gelang Patah and Mutiara Rini areas at 1am on Thursday (May 6).

"One of the suspects is a police constable and the others worked as a construction worker, bus driver and tow truck driver.

"The arrests led us to a few locations where we seized items such as two cars, a police identification card, a pair of handcuffs, mobile phones, car keys, ATM cards, a gold necklace and some clothes.

"We believe that the group was involved in several other robberies since the start of the month," he said in a statement.

He said that one of the suspects had a record of three previous crimes.

ACP Dzulkhairi added the suspects were placed under remand for four days until May 9 for investigations under Section 384, Section 379(A) and Section 170 of the Penal Code.
