Break-in gang busted in Serdang, five nabbed

SERDANG: Five suspects believed to be members of a housebreaking gang have been arrested here.

A police team raided a house in Kampung Gurney on April 29 and arrested four men and a woman, aged between 35 and 50.

They also seized two cars and stolen goods, including jewellery, valued at RM113,000.

“Four of them had police records related to housebreaking.

“They would target empty houses. If no one answered the door, the group would break into the house to rob it, ” acting Serdang police chief Supt Mohd Rusdi Daud told a press conference at the district police headquarters here on Tuesday (May 4).

He said police hope to solve 19 housebreaking cases within Serdang and in the Klang Valley area with the arrests.

On a separate matter, Supt Rusdi said the Commercial Crimes Investigation Department (CCID) has opened an investigation paper on a female influencer for alleged cheating.

“The case is still under investigation, ” he added.

It is believed the district CCID is looking into allegations that luxury bags ordered from the influencer were never received.
