Covid-19: Eight Negri schools ordered to close on Monday (May 3)

SEREMBAN: Eight more schools in Negri Sembilan have been ordered to close for two days on Monday and Tuesday (May 3-4), after Covid-19 cases were detected there.

State Education Committee chairman Datuk Dr Mohamad Rafie Ab Malek said the closure is to allow authorities to carry out risk assessment, contract tracing and sanitisation works at the affected premises.

The eight schools here ordered to close this morning are SMK Tuanku Abdul Rahman, SMK Gemas, SMJK Chan Wa II, SJKC Bandar Sri Sendayan, SMK Mambau, SK Chembong, SMK Dato' Sedia Raja, and SK Dato' Klana Putra.

Mohamad Rafie said the closure of 14 other schools was also extended for two days until Tuesday

The schools involved are SK Kompleks KLIA, SJKC Sino English, SJKC Sungai Salak, SJKC Pei Hua, SK Si Rusa, SK Lavender Heights, SM Agama Rembau, SK Jimah Baru, SK Desa Cempaka, SMK Desa Cempaka, SK Taman Seri Mawar, SK Bandar Sri Sendayan, SK Sega and SJKT Ladang Tanah Merah.

SMK Seremban 2, which was ordered to close on April 22, will remain shut until Friday (May 7).
