KUANTAN: Pahang civil servants will receive a special financial assistance of RM1,000 in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail (pic) said the state government has agreed to provide the handout to about 8,000 civil servants.

"This covers all grades, involving a financial allocation of about RM8mil. The state Finance Office will immediately follow up so that payment can be made on May 7.

"Also receiving this financial aid are federal civil servants with grade JUSA C and above, who serve in the state," he said on Wednesday (April 28).

Wan Rosdy said the decision was reached at the state executive council meeting he chaired on Wednesday.

"It is made based on the state's financial capability as well as the state government's caring attitude towards the people, including the civil servants. It is hoped the handout can be used prudently.

"To the state statutory bodies and local authorities, I recommend that they also make similar handouts to their respective officers and staff," he said.
