Duo hurt after lorry turns turtle in Nibong Tebal

NIBONG TEBAL: Two men were injured after their lorry overturned here.

Penang Fire and Rescue Department operations and safety officer Nafis Ariff Abdullah said they received a distress call around 4.35pm on Thursday (April 22).

“When the Fire and Rescue team arrived at the scene, it was found that the road accident at Jalan Persekutuan Nibong Tebal involved an overturned lorry. The driver sustained head injuries while the passenger had only minor bruises, ” he said.

“Our Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) personnel provided initial treatment to both victims and the driver was taken to Hospital Sungai Bakap for further treatment, ” added Nafis Ariff in a statement.

Nafis said the cause of the accident is still unknown.

“We are still investigating the cause of the accident. It might be due to speeding which led to hard braking, ” he said.
