PETALING JAYA: Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah’s birthday wish is that Malaysians will stay united in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, which has recently recorded daily four-digit spikes in the country.

“Thank you and my only wish is that in times of crisis, the whole nation can come together and be stronger to fight against Covid-19, ” he told The Star in a text message.

Dr Noor Hisham turned 58 yesterday, and Malaysians from all walks of life sent him birthday wishes on his social media account.

A few said they missed watching Dr Noor Hisham delivering his daily press conferences of the Covid-19 situation on TV. The last time he appeared on television for his daily briefing was on March 4.

Last year, members of the press gave him a surprise birthday cake after he finished his press conference at the Health Ministry in Putrajaya.
