SIBU: Sibu, Kanowit and Selangau districts have been placed under special movement restriction from April 22 to 26.
Sibu Divisional Disaster Management Committee chairman Wong Hee Sieng said the restriction for the three zones would be in effect from 12.01am on April 22 to 11.59pm on April 26.
In a statement on Tuesday (April 20), he said only those classified as providing essential services would be allowed to operate – at 50% capacity – from 6am to 8pm.
Other sectors are not allowed.
Additionally, only three people are allowed in a car at one time while sporting and recreational activities are not permitted.
Wong said religious activities could be carried out according to the standard operating procedure set by the state religious authorities for Islamic affairs and the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor).
"Restaurants and eateries are only allowed to provide takeaway and delivery services as dining in is prohibited," he said.
