IPOH: A family from Taman Impiana Adril in Menglembu here are puzzled and scared after their cars were splashed with yellow paint.
Factory worker Chow Kah Wei, 32, said last Sunday’s incident had traumatised her family as it happened out of the blue.
“We woke up to find two of our cars splashed with yellow paint.
“Our first guess was that this might have been the work of a loan shark, ” she told a press conference held by Menglembu assemblyman Steven Chaw here yesterday.
“Having checked with all of our relatives, we found none of them had borrowed money from any loan shark.
“I am really worried for the safety of my family. My parents are elderly and we have small children, ” said Chow, adding that her neighbour’s surveillance camera had recorded the incident.
“We saw a man carrying a plastic bag believed to be filled with the paint. We couldn’t see his face clearly, ” she said, adding that her family had been staying at the house for five years.
Chaw said he would try to get the police and local community policing group to hold more patrols as similar cases had been reported in the area in the last six months.
“The families are unsure if this is the work of a loan shark since the paint is not red and there were no notes left behind, ” he said.
When contacted, Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said police were looking for the suspect.
