Covid-19: Two pupils at Klang Valley schools test positive

PETALING JAYA: Two pupils at SJK (C) Damansara and SJK(C) Kepong 2 have tested positive for Covid-19.

However, SJK (C) Damansara said the district health office did not order the class to close.

The school said the Year Two pupil and with those sitting next the pupil in their class, have been quarantined for 10 days.

The pupil tested negative for Covid-19 on April 14 but tested positive on Tuesday (April 20), said the school in a notice to parents.

It added that the pupil last attended school a day before the first test.

"The school has immediately sanitised all classrooms according to the standard operating procedures," it added.

Meanwhile, SJK(C) Kepong 2, Kuala Lumpur, said one of its Year Three pupils tested positive for the virus and the entire class will continue with home-based learning until April 25.

Other classes will continue as usual, the school said in a notice to parents on April 17.

A few schools nationwide have reported Covid-19 infections of staff and students, leading quarantine of affected classes or closing the entire school.

The Petaling health district office said a total of 19 schools have been ordered to close temporarily from Tuesday.
