M'sian and his Viet lover nabbed on suspicion of drug trafficking

KUALA LUMPUR: A local man and his Vietnamese lover, believed to be involved in drug distribution in the Klang Valley, have been arrested here.

City Narcotics Crime Investigation Department chief Asst Comm Adnan Azizon said a police team arrested the 26-year-old man and the 31-year-old woman near Jalan Sri Sentosa at around 12.30pm on April 16.

"The two then led us to a rented condominium unit at Puchong Jaya where we found 4.04kg of ecstasy powder, 11.19g of ketamin and 6.16g of methamphetamine," he said in a statement on Monday (April 19).

He said police also seized RM540 cash and both suspects tested positive for ketamin.

"Checks revealed the male suspect had two prior criminal records.

"They have been remanded until Tuesday (April 20) to help with investigations," he said, adding that the case has been classified as drug trafficking.

Supt Adnan said the two have been actively distributing drugs within the Klang Valley area for over three months.

"The drugs are worth an estimated RM244,975," he said.
