KLIA Transit TravelCards to be phased out and replaced with MyKad from May 1

PETALING JAYA: With effect from May 1, the use of TravelCards at KLIA transit stations will be discontinued, and will be replaced with MyKad.

Commuters may register online or at any KLIA transit stations namely KL Sentral, Bandar Tasik Selatan, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, Salak Tinggi and at the airport itself, KLIA Express said in a statement on its website on Monday (April 19).

Users may register online at mykad.kliaekspres.com where they would need to provide their details such as MyKad number, email address and mobile phone number.

They would receive an email within three days, after which they just need to bring their MyKad to any of the counters for activation.

Foreigners without a MyKad will be issued a smart card ticket and register with their passport details instead.

Online applications for them will only open on May 1, so for the time being, they will need to visit the registration counters.

They will be required to produce their passport or a photocopy for verification when buying the smart card ticket.
