Melaka cops nab alleged drug-pusher teen and her 46-year-old beau

MELAKA: A 16-year-old schoolgirl said to be a drug peddler in Sungai Udang here has been arrested along with her boyfriend, 30 years her senior.

Melaka Narcotics Chief Supt Zulkiflee Rashid said the two were arrested while apparently waiting behind some bushes for addicts to collect their drug supply at 6am on Friday (April 16) in Sungai Udang.

"The raid was initiated by my team with reinforcements from the Melaka Tengah police," he said on Friday (April 16).

Supt Zulkiflee said the girl told investigators that she was in love with the 46-year-old man and that she has been dealing drugs since last month.

The man is a widower with two children, has a criminal record with 11 previous offences, Supt Zulkiflee said, adding that police also confiscated 127.3g of a substance believed to be heroin.

"The two also tested positive for drugs," he said.

Supt Zulkiflee said the two have been remanded for seven days to assist in the investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
