PUTRAJAYA: Seven districts in Kelantan will be placed under movement control order beginning April 16 after the number of Covid-19 cases in the state saw a spike.
The affected seven districts are Kota Baru, Pasir Mas, Pasir Puteh, Bachok, Machang, Tumpat and Tanah Merah.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that health authorities confirmed an increase in the number of cases by 30.5%.
He said for the past 14 days, the number of cases rose to 1,088 cases from 756 cases.
Ismail Sabri also reported that nine new clusters were reported over the past 14 days.
"The government has agreed to impose the MCO in the seven districts in Kelantan until April 29.
"Among the standard operating procedure is to have roadblocks placed at the districts, as well as state borders.
"All economic and business sectors that has been given approval by the relevant ministries and agencies will be allowed to operate," he said on Wednesday (April 14).
Ismail Sabri said the list of SOPs is available on National Security Council website.
