IPOH: The fire that broke out near an operation theatre at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital on Friday (April 9) has not disrupted its services.

Perak Health director Datuk Dr Ding Lay Ming said all its operation theatres and systems are fully functional as the fire only affected a storeroom.

"As of April 11, the three operation theatres at the hospital are functioning normally.

"The storeroom is now being cleaned up and repaired by an appointed concessionaire," she said in a statement on Sunday (April 11).

"The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Fire and Rescue Department," she added.

The fire broke out at about 9.20pm and was put out by hospital staff before firemen arrived.

There were no injuries or deaths.
