Eight areas in Tawau placed under EMCO from April 12-25

KOTA KINABALU: Eight localities in Tawau will be placed under the enhanced movement control order starting April 12-25 as Sabah records 127 new Covid-19 cases.

The state also recorded one death in Lahad Daru on April 11.

The eight localities under the enhanced MCO are Taman Sri Bukit Tawau, Taman Cahaya, Jalan Tengku Osman, Kuarters Bomba Tawau, Bandar Sri Indah, Jalan Mesra, Kampung Titingan and Taman Golden Hill.

Minister in charge of Covid-19 matters in Sabah, Datuk Masidi Manjun said a new cluster - the Merundum cluster in Putatan, which involves the close contacts of a state native chief was also recorded on April 11.

The native chief had attended a gathering in Putatan district between March 27 and 28, and a course at the Putatan district council from March 31 to April 1.

He said eight cases were recorded in total for this cluster.
