GOMBAK: A police inspector was hit by a motorcycle that was trying to escape a roadblock at the Templar toll plaza here.
"At around 12.20pm, a motorcycle that was there crashed into the inspector, which led to injuries on his head and hip. The suspect ran off but was caught by police around 3km away from the roadblock," said Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Arifai Tarawe.
He added in a statement on Thursday (April 8) that the preliminary investigations showed the 37-year-old suspect works as a contractor, did not have his licence with him and that his road tax had expired.
"The victim has been sent to Selayang hospital for treatment and is in a stable condition. The suspect will be remanded tomorrow (April 9)," he said.
