Sebatik rep Hassan Gani joins Bersatu

KOTA KINABALU: Sebatik assemblyman Hassan Gani Amir, who left Warisan on Feb 25, has officially joined Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.

Hassan handed over his application to Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin as Sabah Bersatu marked its second anniversary celebrations at Sabah International Convention Centre here on Monday night (April 5).

Hassan, a first-term assemblyman, became the first rep to cross floors after the Sept 26 snap state election.

He had initially taken an independent position supporting the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government led by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, who is Sabah Bersatu chairman.

Warisan attempted to block it by submitting his pre-signed resignation letter, but was rejected by the Sabah Speaker.

Hassan had submitted a sworn affidavit withdrawing his pre-signed resignation letter and informed the Speaker that he wanted to remain as Sebatik assemblyman.
