KUALA LUMPUR: The sighting of the new moon to determine the start of the fasting month of Ramadan for Muslims in Malaysia will take place on April 12 or 29th Syaaban 1442 in the Islamic calendar.
In a statement yesterday, the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal said the sighting would be carried out in 29 locations in both the peninsula and Sabah and Sarawak.
