KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s protected wild bearded boars will be able to survive the current African swine fever (ASF) virus afflicting pigs in parts of the state, conservationist Dr John Payne said.
Though little can be done to manage the impact of ASF on the bearded pigs in the wild, the boar population in Sabah will survive the latest virus episode, said Payne, who is the executive director of Bora, the Sabah-based NGO that provides services in wildlife management.
