Dr Wee pays tribute to the sacrifices, services of the police

PETALING JAYA: As the country celebrates the 214th Police Day, Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (pic) paid tribute to the sacrifices and the services of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

"Wherever you are, you are our country's hero. Additionally, whether you are still serving or have retired, your services and sacrifices are huge and will always be remembered," the Transport Minister said in a Facebook post on Thursday (March 25).

Dr Wee, who is also MCA president, added that the police force and society cannot be separated.

Earlier Thursday, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin launched the 214th Police Day at Police Training Centre (Pulapol) in Kuala Lumpur. Also present were Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, Chief of Defence Forces Gen Tan Sri Affendi Buang and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador.

The event will be celebrated nationwide with the theme “Polis dan Masyarakat Berpisah Tiada” (Police and society are inseparable).
