Tamil school to host state robotics meet

SJK (T) Tasek Permai in Seberang Prai, Penang, will become the first Tamil school in the country to host the Pathfinder robotics competition, Makkal Osai reported.

The competition will feature all primary and secondary schools from the state, said school headmistress Vethavalli Ramasamy.

National level robotics trainer Purushotthaman Munusamy, also a teacher at the school, will be the programme director for this year’s competition.

The school won accolades from the district education office for successfully hosting a district level robotics competition last year, which gave it the confidence to host the larger event this year.

This year’s Pathfinder competition will be taking place with the endorsement of the state education department for the first time.

All certificates given to participants and winners will be endorsed by the department, which will contribute to the students’ co-curricular activity points, said Vethavalli.

The school management and teachers were keen to provide a platform for the students to showcase their talent and invited all Penang schools to join the competition, she added.
