Sixteen arrested following viral video of brawl in Bukit Bintang


KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested 16 people after a video of a fight in Bukit Bintang here went viral.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the arrests were made on Saturday (March 20), with the suspects aged between 13 and 25.

“They will be remanded for three days starting today.

“Preliminary investigations showed that the fight started when some in the group were unhappy after their friends appeared to be in a daze after vaping,” he said in a statement Sunday (March 21).

All suspects tested negative for drugs. The 21-second video showed a group of people in an altercation.

One of those involved is seen pushed to the ground before being kicked by multiple people.
