SIBU: A 44-year-old chief mechanic was cheated of RM41,980 when he applied for a RM40,000 loan through an advertisement on social media.
Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the victim claimed he found an offer for a “HSBC loan” while going through his Facebook account on Feb 28.
