Wee: Women are equal partners in country's socio-economic development

PETALING JAYA: Women should not be viewed as home makers but as an equal partner in the country's socio-economic development, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

In his International Women's Day 2021 message, the Transport Minister paid tribute to women who work hard to shoulder various responsibilities and roles.

"Women today not only take good care of their families but at the same time, they are respected in their own careers.

"They are wives, daughters, mothers and they are also fighting for the community," said the MCA president in a statement posted on Facebook Monday (March 8).

The theme for this year's International Women's Day is "Choose to Challenge".

"Women are now standing as tall as men. Women also contribute to the development of the country and the welfare of the community," said the Ayer Hitam MP.

"March 8 is the day we celebrate International Women's Day. We should not only celebrate women but also remember and appreciate all their contributions," he said.
