PAS postponing muktamar until after GE15, says Takiyuddin

PETALING JAYA: PAS' 67th muktamar (general assembly) slated to be held some time this year, has been postponed until after the 15th General Election, says Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan.

The PAS secretary-general was quoted as saying on Astro Awani that the decision was made during a meeting by the party top leadership, in order to allow preparation for the general election.

"PAS has decided that the muktamar will only be held after the 15th General Election, regardless of the exact date," he was reported as saying in Kota Baru.

"At this stage, our decision was made not knowing when the general election would be held.

“It is expected that the general election will only be called once the state of emergency is over. This factor was taken into account before deciding to postpone PAS’ general assembly until after the 15th General Election," added Takiyuddin, who is also the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department.
