PETALING JAYA: Port Klang Authority general manager Capt K. Subramaniam has been elected as the new International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) president, says Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

He said IAPH secretary-general Masahiko Furuichi told him about this on Wednesday (March 3).

“Congratulations Capt K. Subramaniam for being elected for the 2021-2023 session.

Together with the leadership of the Ministry, we are confident in the knowledge and experience of Capt Subramaniam to propel IAPH further," said Dr Wee.

“This will certainly benefit the industry as a whole for everyone’s interest, ” he added in a post on his Facebook account on Wednesday (March 3).

Dr Wee noted that this also proves that Malaysians are qualified to shoulder great responsibilities not only in the country but also globally.
