PETALING JAYA: Employers who have yet to register their companies and employees with the Social Security Organisation (Socso) will be exempted from being fined for late payment contributions until June 30.
Socso chief executive officer Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed said that any employer who voluntarily registers during this period will be exempt from the Interest Late Payment Contributions or Faedah Caruman Lewat Bayar
“For employers whose deadline to register has passed, a discount of between 80% to 100% will be given on the compound issued," he said in a virtual speech on Monday (March 1) in conjunction with Socso's 50th Golden Jubilee celebration.
Dr Mohammed Azman said that this was being done as a form of appreciation for the support of companies and employers over the years.
He added that the offer and discounts are also aimed at alleviating the financial burden of employers.
“Socso is aware of the difficulties facing employers in the Covid-19 pandemic. I call on employers who are qualified and have yet to register to come forward and do so soon," said Dr Mohammed Azman.
The registration can be done online through the Assist Perkeso portal by logging on to www.perkeso.gov.my.
