28-year-old dies after losing control of car, crashing into tree

JOHOR BARU: A 28-year-old man was killed after his car crashed into a tree at Jalan Persiaran Impian Emas, Taman Impian Emas, here.

The victim, Yap Whye Xin, is believed to have lost control of his vehicle before crashing into the tree.

Skudai Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Suraini Adenan said that the incident occurred at 4.56pm on Sunday (Feb 28) and a total of 11 personnel from the Skudai and Larkin Fire Stations were deployed to the scene.

“The victim was pronounced dead at the location by the Health Department officer who arrived at the scene and the body of the victim was brought out using Road Traffic Accident (RTA) equipment.

“We also deployed one fire truck, and one Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) van, ” she said in a statement here on Monday (March 1).

Suraini added that the body was then handed over to the police for further action.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Rupeah Abd Wahid has confirmed receiving a report on the matter.
