No open houses and visits, Sabahans celebrating Chap Goh Meh reminded

KOTA KINABALU: Sabahans celebrating Chap Goh Meh on Friday (Feb 26) have been reminded to avoid open houses and not to visit the homes of friends and relatives in line with standard operating procedures issued previously.

State Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun (pic) said this was to avoid further spread of Covid-19 during such activities, such as the recent Kluster Mawar in Sandakan, which was linked to a Chinese New Year dinner gathering.

In a statement on daily Covid-19 developments in Sabah, he noted that the state registered 93 new cases on Thursday (Feb 25), bringing the total to 52,466.

No fatality from the disease was recorded on Thursday.
