Covid-19: 100 cops at Ampang Jaya police station to undergo screening

AMPANG: Around 100 policemen will undergo Covid-19 tests at the Ampang Jaya police station and other police stations in the district.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said that the mass testing was conducted as a precaution following numerous Covid-19 cases from the Ampang Jaya police station.

"We have finished our sanitation work with the help of the Fire and Rescue Department and today around 100 policemen will undergo testing.

"We target those from the high-risk departments such as the MPV (mobile policing vehicle) unit," he said on Thursday (Feb 25) at the district police headquarters.

He also ensured the public that the Ampang Jaya police station is safe to visit.

"For those with business here or if they want to apply for permission to travel out of their district and state, please do come," he said.

The testing was conducted by the Gurimas Group, which sponsored the rapid testing kits, ACP Mohamad Farouk added.

"They came forward to help us and I thank them for that," he said.
