Ampang Jaya police station fully sanitised, open to public again

AMPANG: The Ampang Jaya police station is now open to the public after a thorough sanitisation process, says Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak.

He said the public can lodge police reports and apply for inter-state and inter-district travel permits from 4pm onwards on Wednesday (Feb 24).

He said the sanitisation process at the station and the Ampang Jaya police headquarters was conducted by the Fire and Rescue Department and non-governmental organisations.

ACP Mohamad Farouk added that he hoped the public would still adhere to Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) when at the station.

Matters such as lodging police reports and applying for travel permits were suspended at Ampang Jaya police station from Feb 23 until March 1.

The number of police personnel at Ampang Jaya police station, who tested positive with Covid-19 remains at 11 and those affected are believed to have been infected by several detainees who were Covid-19 positive.

However, the operations of other police stations within the Ampang Jaya district were not affected.
