JOHOR BARU: The Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor (YSIJ), in collaboration with the Season Optical company, will provide spectacles worth RM500,000 to 2,500 pupils in Johor.
In a statement distributed by the Royal Press Office, YSIJ said Johor Ruler, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, inspected a special lorry that will be used for visits to all the districts in Johor for the purpose of conducting eye examinations on pupils requiring the aid.
The inspection of the vehicle was done at Istana Flintstone in Mersing, near here, yesterday.
According to the statement, Sultan Ibrahim welcomed the private sector to work hand-in-hand with YSIJ to help the needy.
“Given that we have been going through a pandemic since last year, any type of aid that can be extended to ease the burden of those impacted is much appreciated.
“I wish to thank this company for coming forward to cooperate with my foundation and help the people in its own way, ” he said.
Also present at the lorry inspection ceremony were YSIJ board of trustees member Datuk Avinderjit Singh, YSIJ chief executive officer Fadhly Suffian Laili and Season Optical chief executive officer Calvin Chung.
Sultan Ibrahim also granted an audience to Eco-shop Marketing managing director Datuk Seri Lee Kar Whatt and Lionmas Furnishers executive director Gan Cheng Swee, who are among the contributors to YSIJ’s effort to help the needy. – Bernama
