KUALA LUMPUR: Etiqa Family Takaful Berhad will be providing 2.7 million low dead volume syringes that the Government urgently needs to kickstart the first phase of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
The first phase is crucial as it involves vaccinating frontline staff made up of medical and non-medical personnel, who are at the forefront of fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.
Low dead volume syringes are a key factor in administering the Covid-19 vaccine. It has been designed to reduce wastage, so that after an injection is complete, little remains within the syringe and needle. This ensures that the recipient of the vaccine would have received the entire dose.
“Etiqa Family Takaful Berhad is honoured to be given the opportunity to play an instrumental role in the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme with the contribution of 2.7 million low dead volume syringes,” said Etiqa Family Takaful Berhad CEO Zafri Ab Halim.
“The country is at a crucial point in its fight against Covid-19, and we are ready to help.
“We sincerely hope that this contribution will help the country in its fight against Covid-19. It has been a challenging time for everyone, and the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme gives us hope that the battle with Covid-19 will be over sooner rather than later.
“In the meantime, let’s continue to play our part in breaking the chain of transmission,” he added.
Since the start of the pandemic, Etiqa Family Takaful Berhad has actively assisted the country in its fight against Covid-19.
Initiatives have included contributing towards the purchase of ventilators for use by hospitals battling the virus, and also providing government hospitals preventive support by contributing RM10mil for more than 68,000 Covid-19 test kits.
