Man held after cops find ketum water, leaves in food delivery bag

KAJANG: A man has been arrested after police found packets of ketum water inside a food delivery bag.

"The suspect was arrested on Feb 15 around 5pm in a housing area in Taman Sri TImah," Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said in a statement on Tuesday (Feb 16).

"Checks were conducted and a food delivery bag that the suspect surrendered held 23 packets of suspected ketum water, 36 packets of ketum leaves and one packet of wet ketum leaves.

"Preliminary investigations showed that the suspect had been distributing the ketum water around the Klang Valley using his personal vehicle.

"It is believed that he had been doing so for around a month," ACP Zaid said.

The value of the drugs was estimated at RM487. A urine test on the suspect came back negative.

"It is believed that the seized ketum leaves and water could have been used by 20 to 50 people," ACP Zaid added.
