Man's body found in hut after fire in Ipoh

IPOH: The body of a 71-year-old man was found in a hut after a fire near Ampang toll here.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department deputy operational director Muhamad Sharizal Aris said the department earlier received a distress regarding a small bushfire at a farm around 6pm on Monday (Feb 15).

“Two fire trucks with 14 personnel rushed to the scene," he said to reporters.

“When we arrived, there was a small hut that was on fire and the victim was found under burnt piles of zinc, ” he added.

Muhamad Sharizal said the department managed to control the fire within five minutes.

He said the cause of the fire is being investigated, adding that the man's body would be handed over to the police for further investigation.
