PETALING JAYA: Five patrons of an entertainment outlet were issued with compounds for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided an entertainment outlet in Dataran Mentari here at 1.05am Sunday (Feb 14).

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said the five men were drinking alcoholic beverages when police raided the outlet.

"They have been issued with compounds for SOP violations," he said when contacted on Sunday.

Two workers at the outlet were also detained for selling alcoholic beverages without proper licences and violating Covid-19 SOP, he added.

"We seized seven bottles of liquor and RM560 cash," he said.

ACP Nik Ezanee called on the people to abide by the SOP set during the movement control order.

"We will take stern action against those who do not adhere to the SOP," he said.
