Man detained for allegedly raping 14-year-old niece for nine months

PETALING JAYA: A 41-year-old man has been detained for allegedly raping his 14-year-old niece repeatedly.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said the suspect was arrested at his home in Sea Park at about 7.30pm on Thursday (Feb 11).

"The victim lodged a report earlier on the same day that she was raped by her uncle from March until December last year at their home in Sea Park.

"She claimed that the uncle would rape her whenever her mother was not at home or when her other siblings were asleep," he said when contacted on Saturday (Feb 13).

The victim has since been sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for further examinations, he added.

"The victim also claimed that the suspect threatened her not to say anything about the rape," he said.

ACP Nik Ezanee said the suspect has been remanded for seven days.

"He has no prior police records.

"We will investigate the matter thoroughly," he added.
