'Akad nikah', congregational and Friday prayers allowed in Johor from Tuesday (Feb 9)


JOHOR BARU: Muslims couples, including those from outside Johor, can now carry out their marriage solemnisation ceremonies under the movement control order here following a decree from Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar.

State Islamic religious affairs committee chairman Tosrin Jarvanthi said His Majesty issued the decree that "akad nikah", as well as congregational and Friday prayers, were now allowed starting Tuesday (Feb 9) following advice from the National Security Council (NSC) and the Health Ministry.
